Abstract:
Nowadays, we must include plurilingual education in all different stages, because it would help students to develop their linguistic knowledge and to learn different languages, in this case English. There is a movement proposed, even by the European Union, in which this plurilingual education is promoted. In Spain, we have taken into account European recommendations with different applications applied to the different Spanish areas. But, it is difficult to know the exact situation of this multilingual education around Spain, because there are different applications without clear objectives and it is not easy to control. CLIL approach is useful and it could be an important idea to take it into account in our educational system. CLIL approaches are new methodologies to be applied to promote this multilingual education, but we do not know the exact reaction of the teachers or the students in doing so. In this paper, we explain the opportunity to collaborate with teachers developing CLIL for a whole year in the Drawing and Craft subject in English. We attended their classes, worked with the students, implemented some tasks and eventually, we could ask their opinions about the experience of learning Drawing and Craft in English. Analyzing the results, we can say that they feel motivated and they like these lessons, because they are different from the traditional ones. Also, we were pleased as all of them are very concerned with the importance of learning another language for their future.
