Abstract:
This paper presents how virtual environments can be used in the studying of active low-pass filters by engineering students.
In the conditions of a global pandemic due to Covid 19, the universities student learning took place in an electronic environment. This is possible due to the rapid development of computer technology and its entry into the learning process.
As known, active filters are electronic systems passing signals with one frequency and holding all the others.
The students study to design active filters with certain parameters.
A program, created in a virtual environment, is used in the process of filter calculation. The students are actively involved in the design process, as they have to make the necessary decisions at certain stages in the implementation of the program.
They implement the designed filter in a software environment and test its efficiency through its simulation.
The program, which is proposed in this paper, was used in the online training during the quarantine because of Covid-19 pandemic in the disciplines, studied by students majoring in "Computer and communication systems" at the Faculty of Physics and Technology at the University of Plovdiv “Paisii Hilendarski” (Bulgaria).
The use of software environments allows students to facilitate computational processes without reducing their active participation. The simulation of electronic devices allows them to gain certain practical skills and be more confident when working in real conditions. Keywords:
