Abstract:
In order to ensure the effectiveness of the measure of medium supervision and successful resocialization of the child with the inclination to commit crimes, it is especially important that the parents (guardians) of the child would actively cooperate with the socialization center, take part in the implementation of the measure of medium supervision of the child. The problematic question of the research is raised: What features of the cooperation with the family of the child (guardians), arising problems and the possibilities of their solution when implementing the medium supervision of the child are identified by the employees of socialization centers? The goal of the research is to reveal the experience of the employees of socialization centers in the cooperation with the family of the child (guardians) when engaging them in the implementation of the measure of medium supervision of the child. The strategy of quantitative research was used. The data collection method is a semi-structured interview. The result analysis was performed by using the method of content analysis.

The research results revealed that socialization centers endeavor to maintain a permanent contact with parents (guardians) by using different cooperation forms: the engagement of parents in the process of the preparation and implementation of an individual plan for their child, telephoning home, writing letters, systematic informing about the behavior of their child, his learning achievements, talking individually when parents arrive or the child is transported home for his vacations; organizing days for parents; providing an opportunity to stay in the institution, lodge for a night, in case of the arrival of parents from further location, stay with their child for a longer time, and communicate with employees. On the other hand, the limitations of the cooperation with parents (guardians) came to light: the cooperation with the parents (guardians) is one-way (the center – parents (guardians), episodic, formal, related to the provision of information; the centers regret the absence of responsible municipal authorities when solving problems in the cooperation with the parents (guardians) of the child; the parents (guardians) underestimate the significance of their role in the implementation of the measure of medium supervision, they encounter different subjective and objective problems for the solution of which the intervention and assistance of competent authorities are needed. In the opinion of the employees of socialization centers, the directions for the improvement of the cooperation with the family (guardians) are the following: sending children to the center which is nearest to his place of residence; the need that the employees of socialization centers would develop the competencies of the cooperation with the family (guardians); that socialization centers would actively react to the circumvention of carrying out their duties by the parents (guardians) of the child and inform competent authorities about that; there has to be a person in the municipality who coordinates the provision of assistance and support to the child and his parents (guardians); the appointment of a social worker in elderships for the family who would provide the assistance for the family, maintain contact with the center and municipal authorities responsible for the implementation of medium supervision of the child.
