Abstract:
The issues of the involvement of the elderly into the educational system of contemporary society and the necessity of taking into account age and personal capacities when teaching foreign languages are considered by the authors of the article. The opportunities of the realization of individual path of the elderly in the teaching process are analyzed in the article. The strategies of the individual educational paths are discussed. It is not only about the selection of individual syllabus but the selection of the learning style, optimal pace and rhythm, diagnosis and assessment in accordance with the age and individual peculiarities. The article aims to reveal the peculiarities in teaching of the elderly, to study the aspects of foreign language teaching within the scope of individual educational path of each student. The implementation of the challenges was attained on the basis of cognitive capacity analysis of the elderly and the actual approaches to individual learning. The article emphasizes that the main thing in the organization of foreign language teaching of the elderly is the personal approach with due regard to cognitive capacities and individual psychological constitution of the elderly determining the individual educational path.
