Abstract:
Analysts argue that the digital barriers will gradually be overcome and the problems of the digital divide will gradually fade. The subject matter of the paper is bridging the digital divide among the emigrants in the digital era - the individuals over 65 years of age – who, during their occupational activity have not had the need to use digital technologies. The research examines the following factors giving rise to the digital divide such us a lack of motivation, lack of technological infrastructure and a lack of competent expert assistance in certain regions of the country. Empirical research has shown the lack of motivation as a determining factor for the presence of digital divide. The proposed model focuses on the forming of motivation among the target group with the purpose to overcome the digital divide as the first step in a lengthy process, within the concept of lifelong learning.
