Abstract:
A high-quality work climate is a critical aspect to consider to have an efficient and successful organization. In the educational field the work climate is also crucial to achieve the academic excellence. The aim of the present work was the assessment of the work climate in two private universities from Quito, Ecuador. We evaluated three different variables in order to know the work climate at three different levels: local, group and the organization as a whole. The internal personnel were evaluated using a survey that allowed us to have a notion of the local environment based on cultural variables comparing with employees’ perception. The results show that although both universities have similar organizational structures there are statistically significant differences regarding group and organization work climate pointing to a more positive work climate in one of the universities. We have also identified a difference in the perception respect to recognition of performance in both institutions. This study will help both institutions to strengthen the points identified as necessary for an adequate managementKeywords:
