Abstract:
In the current context of adaptation to the European System of higher Education Area (EHEA), the Bachelor and Master degree in Chemical Engineering (University of Castilla-La Mancha, UCLM) have been evaluated by the National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation Quality (ANECA). The ANECA accreditation process allows to evaluate if both degrees are being carried out according to their initial projects.
The aim of this experience is to follow the accreditation process in order to coordinate and organize a system of evidence collection to ensure a proper continuity to further accreditation processes.
The accreditation methodology has been carried out in seven criteria that define the most relevant teaching aspect. Each criterion is based on the compliance with various guidelines that has to be semi-quantitatively evaluated by means of evidences and indicators. The evidences and indicators are available and registered by the university. From the Chemical Engineering area, we have coordinated several work groups in order to recover the evidences and indicators required to support the evaluation of both degrees (Bachelor and Master degree). Concretely, two educational innovation projects have been started up in order to plan, coordinate and schedule the evidence collection, developing a set of pick up tools to sort and store them.
In conclusion, in order to ensure the continuity of an academic degree, it is necessary to coordinate a well defined system of evidence collection in order to show how the degree is being developing. Evidences show in the face of an accreditation process that the title is being developed as was raised in the initial project
