Abstract:
The teaching of English courses at Cuban universities has the purpose of preparing future graduates to be competent from their linguistic point of view as part of their professional competence. In this respect, at the University of Holguin, different teaching proposals have been introduced in some of the careers to foster, mainly, the learners’ oral communicative competence. In the History Career, for instance, a group of oral tasks about the content of the History of Cuba Courses were put into practice in the English IV Course having an interdisciplinary perspective reinforcing the knowledge of this courses, as well as, fostering the English oral communicative competence and results were published. In the paper here presented, the authors offer a proposal of a set of tasks for the development of the learners’ English oral communicative competence about diverse topics of the history courses in the curriculum of the Bachelor of History for its further implementation.
