Abstract:
The advent of information communication technology (ICT) and the Internet has greatly influenced the way knowledge is transmitted. This has resulted in the development of online teaching which refers to courses that are delivered completely online, meaning there are no physical or on-campus class sessions. Lately, as Coronavirus or Covid 19 pandemic evolved, the online teaching has become an important alternate teaching for universities in Malaysia due to the Movement Control Order (MCO) by the government. Many problems faced by academics’ in online teaching such as the students are passive, computer literacy, bandwidth and connectivity issues. The main objective of this research is to explore the challenges faced by academics’ in conducting online teaching. This research will discuss about issues, challenges and experiences gained by academics’ who were involved in online teaching. Quantitative and Qualitative method will be adapted for collecting feedbacks from the university academics’. The outcome of this research is expected to enhance delivery of online teaching particularly during any pandemic period in future.
