Abstract:
Most of us were disarrayed when WHO (World Health Organization) issued a warning in May 2020 that COVID-19 may not be eliminated and we will have to accept the fact and learn to live with it just like we live with HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). Thus, the WHO warns that there is no guarantee for most countries that begin to relax the curfew restrictions to avoid the second wave of infection. Many countries want to get out of the COVID-19 pandemic differently. The same goes for Malaysia that has successfully gone through 6 phases of preventive measures and currently is at the 7th phase which is the RMCO (Recovery Movement Control Order). One of the several important aspects of this pandemic that hugely impacted the Malaysian is the education of the people. Malaysian government slowly open up universities, colleges, schools, and preschool but with very strict and structured SOP (Standard Operation Procedure) for the students and children to follow. Nevertheless, even though MCO (Movement Control Order) was first implemented, the education processes are still carried out as usual but through a new norm of learning - online learning. The students have to cope and adapt from face-to-face to remote learning. Issues arise is on the students coping, resiliency, and acceptance level on the new norm of learning or known as remote learning. Therefore, the paper is meant to explore the students’ coping, resilience, and acceptance level on this remote learning. The study used a survey method. The respondents are among students in Multimedia University that were approached through a google form survey. Descriptive analysis was carried out using SPSS to describe students’ coping, resilience, and acceptance level of remote learning. The results have brought up new insight to the new norm of learning or remote learning. More research is expected to be carried out based on the outcome of this study.
