Abstract:
The paper aims to open a view on the Romanian teachers’ perception on the advantages and disadvantages that are given by the e-learning and mobile learning applications during the COVID-19 pandemic. This paper conducts an analysis on the existing e-learning and mobile learning applications that came as a result of the imposed alternative way of learning which was forced by the COVID-19 pandemic’s disruptive effect. Many educational institutions were put in the unwanted situation of being constraint to shut due to the pandemic that we are confronting nowadays. As a substitute to traditional learning came e-learning, which, although is not a new concept, it wasn’t applied en masse before. E-learning has proven to be a challenge both for students and for teachers as well. This pandemic has certainly disrupted an educational system that already found itself in collapse and began to lose its relevance. The paper’s originality is given by the fact that there isn’t any other work to have approached this subject from the teachers’ point of view, which are nowadays facing a real struggle with e-learning platforms and had to adapt to a new, more or less effective way of learning. Of great interest in the present paper is the analysis of the existent e-learning and mobile learning apps which was made as a comparison between the most popular used apps by the teachers in Romania. As for the statistical part of the paper we used the simple linear regression (least squares method). In this paper we have conducted a quantitative analysis that had the scope of determining the advantages and disadvantages perceived by the teachers regarding the carrying out the didactic activity in the online environment. The data gathering was made with the help of a survey that was posted on an online platform. Their analysis was made with the help of the IBM SPSS program.
