Abstract:
The main goal of the project was to assess the competences od key employees and to introduce the assessment methodology into human resours function as a tool for planning the educational and development needs based on their competences.

What we needed in the company is a systematic approach to planning education and career development of individuals. Results of the Project were the framework for designing and organizing employees educational and development programs.
The sample consisted od 198 employees having university degree, GPA at Performance Reviews > 8, middle-managerial positions.
Instruments and tools used:
Totalassessment:digitalized assessment -This is a set of tests for assessment of potentials, professional interests, competences, as well as for assessment of motivational factors
Structured interview reviewing the career evolution, motivational factors as well as validation of the results obtained via tests.
Assessment workshops – observation of behavioural indicators of particular competencies (cross-assessment by 4-5 observers in line with the pre-defined criteria and parameters; high-level objectivity). We focused on four competences : Ability to build efficient teams, Initiative and problem-solving ability, Managing other persons, Communication and social skills
By integrating data from all sources, employees are classified into 4 groups:
A group with a strong management potential
A group that has a moderate management potential
Employees with more capacity to learn and develop in relation to management potentials
Employees with potential to perform operational work and reduced management potential

According to the categories of employees, trainings from interpersonal skills were created in order to improve the competencies and included the following topics:
Emotioanl leadership - Manage your own and others' emotions in business with the goal of motivating and managing others
Leadership skills - Manage, Goal Setting, Job Delegation, Time Management, Team Forming Skills
Development of personal leadership - Strengthening self-confidence, Creating interpersonal relationships, Effective communication skills, Stress reduction skills, Readiness for one's own progress
Basic management skills- more communicative and assertive skills, diplomatic way of communicating with others, motivating others in order to increase engagement.

Making decisions - delegating, better cooperation with employees, building a strong team of associates, more efficient use of time, motivation of employees, manager as a leader
