Abstract:
This research was carried out at the Faculty of Central European Studies of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra with the involvement of second-year and third-year full-time bachelor students. The principal aims of the research were to give insight into the ICT-supported teaching of literature and literary history to students of the study programmes ‘Translating and Interpreting: Hungarian Language and Culture in a double major’ and ‘Teacher Education in Hungarian Language and Literature in a double major’ and to give an overview of the websites used at online seminars conducted from 13 February 2020 to 29 October 2020 and their methodological potential. Information flow is becoming ever better and faster due to the proliferation of mass communication and technologies. Consequently, it is imperative for students to have critical thinking skills, i.e. the ability to objectively analyse information and draw a rational conclusion to enable them to properly interpret information and data obtained from multiple sources. This may come as no surprise, but education has the duty to equip students with these skills. As a matter of fact, there are many websites on the world wide web, which sharpen critical thinking skills and thus prove really useful and effective in the educational process and, what is more, in supporting the continuity of teaching and learning.
