Abstract:
The potential of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) is being exploited in a wide range of scientific fields, and pedagogy and literary studies are certainly no exception. It can be reasonably concluded that it is impossible to completely ignore the use of mobile devices and tablets in education today, as the acquirement and enhancement of digital competences are of great relevance for lifelong learning and, in conjunction therewith, labour market requirements. Therefore, the major aims of the research were to make a contribution to the targeted enhancement of teachers’ digital skills and methodological knowledge and to the promotion of contemporary Hungarian literature among secondary school pupils and higher education students by giving an overview of the use of the teaching aid and learning tool LearningApps in teaching literature and by creating learning blocks based on a work of a contemporary Hungarian author selected. The research also comprised the description of the role of the tool in the educational process and its methodological potential. LearningApps.org is a result of a joint research and development project of the Bern University of Teacher Education, the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. LearningApps suitable for the preparation of educational support materials contributes through interactive learning blocks to the success and the improvement of the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process. One of the main advantages of the app is that pupils/students can solve ‘learning cubes’, basically tasks, on their own devices, the web app thus allows them to learn and practice outside the classroom and also enables teachers to assign differentiated tasks. Keywords:
