Abstract:
In contemporary society, teachers are the ones who orient the teaching and learning process with the partnership and collaboration of the students. However, the leadership of the educational process has characteristics that challenge the traditional way of teaching. According to Longman Language Activator, a leader is someone a group of people chooses to represent or be in charge of them. Based on this definition, the authors of this work consider that a leader is the one who guides a group to achieve established objectives with expected results, which, in the educational process, are the learning objectives and outcomes. This paper deals with leadership in the educational process, highlighting the leadership characteristics in virtual environments, paving the way to reflections about teachers as leaders of the collaborative partnerships among students and between teachers and students.
