Abstract:
The Sustainable Development Goals (hereinafter SDGs), set out in the 2030 Agenda, are a set of 17 interconnected global goals to be achieved by 2030, with the aim of achieving a better and more sustainable future for all. To achieve this future, civil society, as well as governments and the private sector, must play a decisive role, with actions to achieve each of the goals. According to The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, which evaluates universities in relation to the SDGs, the University of Jaén is the national leader in contributing to the SDGs, sharing this position with the universities of Barcelona, Girona, Murcia, Rovira y Virgili and Valencia. In this sense, the aim of this paper is to analyse how the University of Jaén is contributing to the achievement of the SDGs through training. We will focus on the Degree in Business Administration and Management (hereinafter ADE) at the University of Jaén. On the one hand, we will analyse the main projects linked to the SDGs carried out in the university itself as a public entity and, on the other hand, we will show the results of the survey to 89 students, mostly under 25 years old, on the degree of knowledge about the SDGs and how they contribute to achieving these goals. The results show that students are knowledgeable about the SDGs, although they consider that more education is needed. Furthermore, they understand that of all the SDGs, the highest priorities are SDG 3 on Health and Well-being and SDG 4 on Quality Education. In relation to the fulfilment of the SDGs, there is scepticism about the deadline set, as they consider it very unlikely that they will be achieved by 2030.
