Abstract:
Introduction:
The proposed project focuses on the development of emerging digital production experiences, such as mixed reality built with the participation of informal workers from mining industries located in the Ciudad Bolívar locality in Bogotá among other colombian municipalities. The proposed research problem addresses the phenomenon of communication and new ways of achieving learning goals and positive safety and health outcomes in working environments.

Methodology:
The purpose of this research-creation project is to implement co-creation strategies with these worker’s communities, regarding risk factors for their health and safety while at work. This strategy is highly valued due to the exclusion of these communities from social security systems and the lack of knowledge of the risks they are exposed to. For this matter, the project counted on the participation of approximately 50 formal and informal mining industries, by using a non-probability Snowball type sampling, and a qualitative approach framed in the case study research type. The instruments applied were: participant observation, interview and social mapping, analyzed by means of reports and field notes; and analyzed research results based upon established categories from the observation processes. Finally, a co-creation workshop was developed that allowed the establishment of a storyline and storyboard for the development of the intended digital communication strategy, represented in a mixed reality training method for the risk factor knowledge and control.

Expected results:
Since it is an ongoing research, at this moment, a social innovation proccess is being made, focused on the knowledge apprehension of safety and health risk factors by the communities where the project is being developed and accordingly to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Number 8 “Decent Work and economic growth - Promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all” (ILO, 2020), as for the design and learning strategy, these results are expected: A mixed reality co-creative workshop, a strategy of social knowledge apprehension, a digital mixed reality multimedia and a learning proccess with the informal worker’s participation.

Discussion:
It is hoped to focus the discussion on the new possibilities of emerging digital design, specially in the mixed, virtual and augmented reality development area; addressing non-traditional scenarios for these kind of technologies, such as the occupational risk factors in informal worker communities.

In this matter, it is expected from the discipline of design and pedagogy principles tom discuss on how the emerging digital trends and technologies add value to communication and learning, also setting a discussion on the methods and results used for this research creation process and weighing the experiencesand outcomes of this transdisciplinary exercise; trying to refine these strategies and systematize research-creation processes in spaces for human communication and learning, that can improve working conditions and the promotion of sustainable development objectives, a necessary step to achieve social change and dignity for everyone.
