Abstract:
Mathematical skills education constitutes one of the most important building blocks of basic education. However, students’ mathematical skills achievement has often been the focus and is seen as a critical global issue in many countries since for many students mathematics is a subject that causes them fear, anxiety, and anger during lesson (Khiat, 2010). ‘Clash of Wizardry’ is a mobile serious game that uses the context of magic to create an immersive world, in which learners playfully duel using magic spells powered by mathematics. In fact, mathematical equations are hidden from the students, creating a stealth learning environment in which students enhance their mathematical skills through playing. This paper reports the results of a survey in which 432 students from three European countries (Greece, Portugal & Italy) answered questions about the usability and pedagogical value of 'Clash of Wizardry'. The analysis of the results showed that ‘Clash of Wizardry’ was positively evaluated by students. Keywords:
