Abstract:
The paper is aimed at examining the role of primary and secondary schools in the implementation of prevention programs. It also targets to reflect on the perception of the role of teachers in educational and preventative work. The authors of the paper analyze the issues of primary school prevention in terms of how teachers design and structure school prevention programs, what is the content and methodology of delivery of these programs. The text contains the result of a combined research, based on the results of a content analysis of 30 school prevention programs, 15 interviews and a questionnaire survey ( N = 95 ) with teachers who occupy a special position of a school-based prevention methodologist. The results of the analysis should be food for thought about the overall level of prevention work in schools, and they should also reflect on school's authority within these special educational activities.
