Abstract:
The increased use of technologies is present in all aspects of our lives. Technological development has given us many opportunities for improvement and success, but also it has brought many challenges. Motivating employees has never been so challenging. It is crucial to have satisfied, and long-lasting academic staff in universities, but how to do it since communication within organizations is getting more and more technology-based? This paper aims to investigate the impact of ICT (information and communication technologies) on employee motivation and satisfaction and which are the factors affecting it. It was discovered that the main aspects affecting motivation are culture, development of social relationships, quality of work relationships and leadership. Most of the human interaction is non-verbal and the communication using technology-based means is not as effective and face-to-face meetings. Recommendations for technology-based communication improvement were made, and future research perspectives were pointed out.Keywords:
