Abstract:
Our working group carries out research into new models of evaluation within the Educational Innovation Project “Generic Continuous Evaluation Models” directed by Dr. Sanjiv Prashar. This project forms part of the fourth edition of the Innovation in Education Program of the University Rey Juan Carlos.
The objective that we hope to achieve in implanting continuous evaluation systems in higher education institutions courses are:
To bring closer the system of evaluation of the course in accord with proposals of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA)
To promote autonomous learning of the student
To optimize student efficiency
To reduce academic failure and dropout rates
This paper will describe and compare our experiences in the application of continuous evaluation systems in different courses taught in the University Rey Juan Carlos in both science and arts degrees. Our intention has always been to introduce innovative teaching methods which will lead to a constant participation of the student in the development of both teaching and learning aspects. Our final goal is the design of generic continuous evaluation systems that can be applied to a wide variety of university courses.
