Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to report on the results of a questionnaire to measure student satisfaction about an e-learning training based on the development of social-emotional skills and new educational innovation methodologies at the University of Alicante (Spain). On this way, this research focuses on the transversal inclusion in the university curriculum of the Degree in Primary Education on two basic aspects 1) innovative ICT methodologies and 2) Socio-emotional Intelligence with the aim of training key competencies for the training of future teachers for the 21st century. The methodology involves the design the survey questionnaire and then used SPSS to analyse the results to determine which aspects of the e-learning training based on the development of social-emotional skills and new educational innovation methodologies were most important and the degree to which they satisfied the students. For this reason, this research is articulated on the basis of a quasi-experimental design that allows evaluating the effect of the proposed training to address the three key aspects defined in the program: a) student satisfaction with the training; b) The attitude and effective mastery of innovation and excellence methodologies based on ICT and c) the improvement of social-emotional Intelligence in the teaching context. For this purpose, the survey completed by the university students after the training has been evaluated. Finally, graphs have been provided in order to illustrate the results. The most important aspects were those associated with teaching and learning methods and the transfer of knowledge to their future teaching practice. In conclusion, learners’ satisfaction is considered critical success factors in an e-learning training where all of the teaching and learning activities are carried out online. The findings provided substantial implications for designing and implementing teaching and learning strategies in online university environments based on the development of social-emotional skills and new educational innovation methodologies. Future implications are discussed in order to get an applied research by fostering the development and deployment of innovative systems for improving efficiency and performance through the teaching challenges for the 21st century.
