Abstract:
In shaping the personality and development of any child, the environment plays a decisive role helping children to discover, initially, the sequential and then the mental expression. This space is predominantly influenced by mature people and their activities. Mature people who often do not realize the impact they have on the perception of children in the space they define.

Studies on the education and development of the child have been carried out since hundreds of years ago, studies that have highlighted their connection with the space in which the children live and carry out their different activities, with architecture, art and colors.

This article aims to analyze how education and architecture taught in alternative educational methods to children but also to students in Faculties of Architecture, can determine their perception on the built space.

The article presents first the main statistical data which proves the importance of architecture in the development of a child and the role of the environmental psychology in the formation of children’s character and also the connection with architecture and the built environment. In the last part of the paper there are presented the results of a survey realized in order to determine the preferences in the field of architecture and the main factors than can influence it. The survey was applied to almost 150 children from Romania and Italy, Veneto Region and also the same survey was applied to the students, on the first, the second and the sixth year of studies, from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, Polithenica Timișoara. The aim of this survey was to determin the differences between children and students and between students from the first year of studies and from the last year of studies in order to see the differences of options and architecture perception during their evolution in the educational process and to see in what extent it influences them.
