Abstract:
Contemporary society is divided in many ways and, as we can see in many researches, the age is one of most recognized factor of disunity. Our intention was to find whether there are some differences in reflection of the value of `education` and the value of `wisdom` across the different age groups in the society of Czech republic. We hypothesized there are differences in this reflection and the understanding of mentioned values is changing during the life period. The results of research published in this paper are a part of wider survey conducted in the Czech society in second half of the year 2016. We were asking 2,266 respondents about their attitude to the values of `wisdom` and `education` and we also got the information concerning their age, sex and other significant stratification variables. The importance of the values was measured on the scale from 1 (completely unimportant) to 10 (extremely important). Generally the Czech population admits quite high average importance of both the values `education` (7.58) and `wisdom` (7.96 After the analysis we concluded there are no differences in the reflection of the value of `education` across the age groups in the population but we can confirm different importance of the value of `wisdom`. At the end the authors discuss the source of these differences. Keywords:
