Abstract:
In the majority of developed countries, women have little representation in the activities related to the scientific research and technological. In the higher education women are majority during the university formation period and also at the start of the work history, however his presence goes decreasing little by little when ascending in different categories academics and in the scientific hierarchy giving place to a progressive scientific potential loss. The study of science indicators and technology removed by gender can approximate us an actual knowledge from the women' situation in this field.

In the current work carry out an analysis of the contribution and presence of the academic staff and investigator in the requested patents in recent years in the University of Santiago de Compostela, with the aim of knowing the presence of men and women as inventors/is of patents as well as sectors in which ones and other have a great representation.
