Abstract:
The economic potential of the south-eastern region of Romania has increased with the discovery of significant oil and natural gas deposits in the Black Sea area, which is why, in the coming years, many activities in this sector are expected. Thus, careful analysis of the attractiveness regarding the jobs as well as of the possible human resources is legitimate.

The present paper emphasizes the close connection between the evolution of the socio-economic environment in the naval industry and the onshore - offshore industry and the interest of young graduates for higher studies oriented towards these professions or related professions.

Also, it is emphasized the importance of the collaboration between the socio-economic environment and the university environment in order to ensure the quality of the professional training of the graduates.

At the same time, the need to correlate the curricula and the competences of the graduates with the needs of this industry is shown in order to increase the competitiveness of young people in the labour market.
