S. Popova

RUDN university (RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
The modern generation of teenagers is exposed to a great load of information from the first moment they wake up in the morning till the last minute before falling asleep. But the constant flow of data, sounds and other signs is often difficult to deal with. It is easy to get lost if there are no directions and no authoritative opinion to rely on. Everybody understands that the modern youth needs a new kind of teacher, who will develop their skills of reflection, self –assessment and ability to correct the mistakes of the past experience. Such professionals are already wanted but very little attention is given to the process of teachers’ adaptation. The is a problem of different period of time and amount of effort that various generations need in order to learn new techniques, accept the innovations of the curriculum, try new methods and tools of learning and teaching. Interestingly, very few people are thinking over the necessity of teachers’ adaptation and learning, being sure that they’ll manage themselves. The requirements are changing; the amount of them is increasing. And being left to their own devices, more and more teachers of nowadays feel demotivated, stressed, exhausted and bewildered when trying to deal with the new requirements of facilitating the modern generation and facing a wall of misunderstanding, ignorance on the part of the youth and indifference of the government.

The article uncovers a range of complexes and problems an average teacher may have to deal with in our time. The author gives a number of possible reasons that could have caused the present posture of affairs and suggests some tools and techniques that may help to improve the overall situation of teaching and facilitating the modern youth.
