Abstract:
Employability is one of the lines of action of the Bologna Process and is defined as the ability of a person to obtain a job in accordance with his skills, to maintain it, to develop professionally the entrepreneurial capacity of a person and his ability to change jobs. Today's graduates need to combine transversal, multidisciplinary and innovative skills and competencies and up-to-date expertise in order to contribute to the wider needs of society and the labour market.
In this context, the role of universities is to prepare students for integration into the labour market by ensuring the development of skills, abilities, values in line with market needs. Universities need to develop programs that ensure interdisciplinary training and the development of transferable skills that meet the specific employment requirements of a wider market. Equally, universities should monitor the employment of graduates in the labour market and whether they practice in the specialty in which they have been trained.

This paper presents a study conducted at the Faculty of Engineering of the "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu (Romania) on the situation of graduates in the last 4 years, on the degree of employability and the fields in which they work. The professional trajectory of the graduates was followed in order to have a measure of the success / failure of the offered training. The quality assessment regarding the percentage of graduates employed within one year from the date of graduation also takes into account the field in which they were employed (the same as the one for which they were trained or another and the level at which they use their qualifications).

The study also includes a survey of employers which proposes measures to improve the personal and professional development of students during their years of study, by developing study programs that help increase the innovative, entrepreneurial and research potential of graduates.
