Abstract:
In order to develop and increase competitiveness, universities need to improve their performance and to promote excellence in education and research. All these are supported by the implementation of a management system through the use of various quality management tools and techniques in the educational, research and administrative processes. The concepts of quality management through specific tools and techniques are an effective method that can be used also in the educational management activity.
The case study was made at “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu, Romania. In the paper the authors propose to use and to adapt a model consecrated in industry, namely the DMAIC model, for improving the quality of educational process in university. Technic control and statistical data were used in order to identify the existent problems. The study identified and propose for implementation methods of control that can provide corrective measures to improve the act of education, research and educational management. The purpose of the proposed model is to facilitate the management quality assurance process in universities, a process that is required to be implemented at national level.Keywords:
