Abstract:
The paper presents a study done at "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu on the development of augmented reality applications as educational tools, in order to increase the skills of students of the Faculty of Engineering. The paper describes how is applied the augmented reality to the discipline Palletization and Containerization and how it supported the development of thinking in space.

In the second part of the paper it is presented the results of a marketing research made on students from the Transport and Traffic Engineering specialization. The purpose of the research was to compare the acquired knowledge and the developed skills to analyze and to place optimum various packaged goods in space. In this respect we used different teaching methods at three distinct groups of students as follows: to the first group, the educational process was a conservative one, for the second group the teaching process was based on the use of specific loading software and for the third group of students, in the teaching process, it was used applications of augmented reality.
