Abstract:
A high standard of foreign language acquisition is facilitated by modern educational paradigms which put learners in the centre of the educational process. The quality of education is best specified in the context of a unique problem.
The enhanced potential of educational technologies and their use in various professional fields impose the need for learning English and demand achievement of competitive knowledge of the language, related to specialized procedures.
The actual acquisition of the language is carried out in an appropriate context in which various requirements, related to methodology (objectives, learning activities, materials), planning and organization of learning, are met. In this regard, it is necessary to mention that the interactive multimedia enhances the quality of the whole learning process. The combination of interactive multimedia programs and selected teaching material ensures advantages in the learning process.
On the other hand, action research is a balanced research approach that reflects authenticity and is applicable to a specific problem in a specific situation. In the foreground dominates the fact that innovation is immediately applied into practice.
This study is an example of a technical action research because it is directed to certain students in an educational context. Furthermore, it includes three important aspects of the research process: monitoring and diagnostics/identification of a problem, action to implement its solution and evaluation of the action.
The main objective in the selection of action research for this study is to reflect the process of development of the phenomenon under investigation – the construction of specific lexical knowledge in students majoring in Print Communications, intermediate level; to determine the parameters of performance and reactions in studying foreign language vocabulary with an interactive educational product integrated in the learning process.
Such an analysis provides foreign language teachers with guidance on how students evaluate such situations and select the appropriate skills, so they can understand the functions of the vocabulary used in a specific context and ultimately, to be able to operate freely with it in everyday life. Keywords:
