Abstract:
The popularity of web technologies, especially the social ones, determines students to use them in order to enhance their chances to fully understand the educational tasks and to have a better performance in learning activities. This paper focuses on students' experience in a blended learning context, realized in the 2013 - 2014 academic year. The study aim is to investigate the relationships between learning performance and the usage of different alternative communications environments as: social networking websites, university platform and mobile communication. The research methods were social survey and documents’ analysis. A total of 150 students were investigated. Statistical analyses show that students recognized the positive outcomes in using web technology in learning. The obtained results suggest that a good learning performance is correlated with being active on the social networking groups and using frequently the university platform. These findings are consistent with the current research findings about how students use social technologies to enhance learning by peer interactions and with their lecturers.Keywords:
