Abstract:
A group of university teachers presented a basic science project in a discussion forum. Thanks to this, an architecture student and a chemistry student showed their interest to participate in the project. The students were in their second year of university. The leaders of the project allowed the students to participate in it, though universities or research centers usually accept third year students during social services or professional practices, because they usually use this experience to elaborate their dissertation to get their degree. The process of guiding students towards research activities allowed them to participate in the basic science project. With the data obtained working in the research projects, students were able to participate in different scientific, and entrepreneurship events. Their papers focused on a biological sample of the coconut. The students got several achievements with their work such as a national science fair participation, a second place in a regional science project contest, a second place in a regional university contest of entrepreneurship projects. The students also attended three scientific conventions in biomaterials and mechanics. All these events happened in a period of 1.5 years. Keywords:
Educational experience, connection, entrepreneurship.
