Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic required emergency actions in various areas of society in order to contain the spread of the disease. These restrictions have driven the emergence of new models of action supported by digital technologies. In this context, the Face-to-Face Training Programs had to adapt their activities for Emergency Remote Education. According to [1] , this new format involves the use of fully remote teaching solutions for classes previously prepared in face-to-face format, constituting a temporary change in response to the crisis. It is noteworthy that emergency remote education, adopted by educational institutions in response to the crisis generated by COVID-19, is significantly different from online learning experiences. According to [1] and [2] remote education differs strongly from Distance Education due to the emergency nature that proposes the use of technologies in specific circumstances. This Experience Report assesses the impact of the transition from face-to-face education to emergency remote education in a technological training project in the state of Amazonas. The project in question is the result of the Research and Development program of the State of Amazonas. One of the central objectives of the initiative is personal qualification to develop and improve skills in the areas of entrepreneurship and technology, through training actions in specific areas and themes, stimulating the formation of new talents and the technological development of the state. To this end, the project's actions develop technical training and events; encouraging a more participatory teaching model with practical learning. Pandemic restrictions coupled with emerging digital technologies have provided greater space-time flexibility in the project studied. In the context of emergency online education,a plurality of innovative scenarios and strategies have emerged to adapt the pedagogical proposals previously adopted in the face-to-face mode, in search of a continuing education that breaks the paradigms imposed by the pandemic. This article aims to present an account and experience on the transfer of face-to-face courses to the MOOCs(Massive Open Online Courses) modality in the period of the pandemic in Brazil, more specifically in the city of Manaus in the State of Amazonas. The results show that this new format expanded the scope of the program without compromising learning, democratizing access to the training offered.
