Abstract:
Nowdays, educational curriculum exists in the space of contraditions. From the one hand, it has all the traditions and teaching experience created by agaes of Pedagogy. From the other hand, it is constantly changing because of the world's swings: technology, modern generations, immigration processes, pandemics, distant learning, and so on. The list is endless. Each area of education is trying to adjust its basic theoretical principles to the modern circumstances. It is happening in the sphere of teaching languages. The paper shares the recent experience of creating a new module-based curriculum with a specific fundamental principle. It takes place at the Center of Continuing Education of the Institute of Foreing Languages of People's Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) where Cultural Studies are the core of the entire curriculum. Having this subject as the fundamental principle altogether with using the latest educational methodical advancements, the team created a three-year course to introduce Russian language through the perspective of Russian Culture and Russian modern life. All the year-to-year courses are interconnected by language and subject materials. In the paper, examples of the curriculum are considered from structural and practical points of view.
