Abstract:
The article deals with factors (barriers) in the field of education. The escalation of natural risks, technological development or the misuse of information and communication technology and the consequences caused by these events are the reasons why it is necessary to build community resilience in the field of disaster risk reduction. Coping with one disaster prepares an individual to deal with a new disaster. The preparation and education of an individual are based on previous experience and at the same time influences preparedness for future disasters (reduces vulnerability and increases resilience). The education of the individual in the field of disaster risk reduction is an essential variable for effective preparedness and disaster management. However, there are common factors (barriers) that hinder access to learning and thus affect the level of disaster preparedness. The main purpose of the presented article is to identify significant factors (barriers) in learning that can affect an individual's preparedness and deal with future disasters and possible impacts on building community resilience. The starting point for determining the factors (barriers) will be social, emotional, cultural, but also personal and work parameters. One of the initial sources will be information from the Czech Statistical Office. Identified factors (barriers) and potential impacts in the field of education will be evaluated using a quantitative method of SWOT analysis.
