Abstract:
When addressing sexting, we must take into consideration the personal experience of the adolescents. Little we know about the motivation that makes the adolescents sext and leads to their emotional sexting experiences of meeting someone online. To determine the motivational factors of sexting incidence and frequency, we investigated 970 adolescents. Our study further aimed at providing prevention-related tips to secure the online environment. This paper proposes selected results of the research focused on determinants affecting the occurrence and frequency of adolescent sexting. The attention is also paid to the proper education and safe online environment, as these factors can help us prevent the incidence of adolescent sexing in the Slovak Republic.
