Abstract:
The article presents crucial results of qualitative research “Partnership between family and school.” The aim was to describe real face of relationships at the first grade of two primary schools from the pedagogical staff and parents´ view. Mainly mutual relationships have been mapped based on interview analysis with pedagogical staff and parents and therefore there were basic mechanisms and key phenomena identified, which enter into mutual relationships. We have implemented twenty two semi-structured interviews with teachers and parents at schools involved in this study. During results processing, recurring patterns of teachers‘ attitudes, manifested in their behaviour and emerged in actions, which we call subjective strategies. The term “subjective strategies“ expresses teachers‘ subjective beliefs about their profession that is manifested in their behaviour and actions towards their pupils‘ parents. As a result of this, these strategies influence the level of relational dimension, communication and attitudes of parents towards teachers. In total we have identified three strategies which together with mechanisms facilitate the cooperation between school and parents and are described in this article.
