Abstract:
The article deals with the issue of the addiction of primary and secondary school students to computers, the internet and playing computer games. The main goal of this work was to map the current state of this issue, which is gradually becoming more relevant. Normally, we are not aware of the threats that modern technology brings to us besides its benefits and ease of life. Modern people are used to using their devices daily, regardless of the amount of time they spent with these devices. When we talk about drug or alcohol addiction (substance addictions), we can easily imagine what that addiction entails. In this work, we wanted to point out and bring to the public modern non-substance addictions that are a similar threat to humanity as other addictions that we are well aware of. The most important part of the work was a survey, the main goal of which was to determine the degree of addiction to the use of smartphones and other devices, on visiting social networks and on playing computer games among primary, secondary and university students. Out of curiosity and to increase the benefits of work, we decided to include university students in the survey. This means that in this work we compared three different categories of learners because we wanted to verify how significantly pupils and students differ in terms of the use of the internet, smartphones and social networks, or playing computer games. Part of the work was also an interview with an expert from practice, from which we will try to select the most interesting passages in the article.
