Abstract:

Internationalization is not only one of the main value provisions of the European Union, but also one of the educational provisions and strategic directions, especially in higher education. Despite the fact that various exchange programs have already been implemented for several decades, there is still a search for more effective means and opportunities of internationalization in higher education institutions, as well as methods and ways for intercultural and multicultural communication and relevant capacity building. One of them would be the various cooperation and communication of national and international students in various formal and non-formal activities, such as e.g. research, scientific activities, joint projects, etc. The presentation will present the results of survey we did in autumn 2022, where not only the opinion of international students about the study environment created for them in host institutions will be analyzed, but also the possibilities for its improvement will be highlighted. Also there will be theoretical and practical justification how joint research activities (for example, focus group method or interview) create more favourable opportunities for internationalization in the institution and make this process more effective.
