Abstract:
Sound, as a natural phenomenon accompanying people in their lives, fills their essence abundantly and is at the same time an invaluable medium in verbal and symbolic communication. In his or her contact with sound, an intellectually disabled person is able to learn better and as a consequence of adequate motivational, emotional and volitional reactions, auditory and motor relations, verbal and sensory reactions. This paper attempts to reveal the role of communication in the psychophysical development of the intellectually disabled, using the characteristics of sound as a means in musical education and an effective method in student's adaptation to his or her community. In order to achieve it, the author described his technique of the dialogue of musical inspiration intended for the intellectually disabled as a proposal to be used in the conditions of musical education of the discussed group of students. This paper presents the principles of the technique of the dialogue of musical inspiration and describes implications for educational practice in the area of musical education.

The foundations of the sound inspiration technique involve natural creative self-fulfillment of intellectually disabled participants, leading to their individual musical utterances. This is supposed to lead to expressing emotional states in the form of a dialogue. The improvisation of musical creation is supposed to take the form of projection of one's self, and activity is to guarantee the character of natural expression with elements of unhampered inspiration.

By enabling creation of dialogues in musical inspiration, the sound inspiration technique is supposed to allow its participants to create situations stimulating a widely understood contemplation of creative activity. Moreover, this activity, in the process of experiencing sound, apart from creative elements, is to supply a wide range of therapeutic values, support revealing experiences freely and safely and support the mechanism of involuntary correction of dysfunctional attitudes.

Numerous positive effects of the sound inspiration technique include bringing closer activities which allow intellectually disabled individuals to achieve an optimum level of intellectual, emotional, creative, social and cultural functioning and develop organs of motion or a part of the body, What is important, by means of the proposed technique participants can achieve a greater level of self-acceptance, including acceptance of their own disability.
