Abstract:
Vocabulary learning has always been one of the main aspects in foreign language teaching. There is no doubt that traditional methods have ceded ground to an innovative communicative approach. Such changes make teachers look for different types of materials in order to make their lessons more creative and motivate students.

The article studies the methods of formation of lexical skills in the process of teaching Spanish as a foreign language. The authors consider both traditional and new, highly competitive methods of teaching vocabulary in the lessons of the Spanish language on the material of authentic texts, advertising in particular. The article includes different practical recommendations on how to incorporate advertising texts into a second language classroom.

Making students not only motivated, but also competent professionals becomes one of the main goals of foreign language learning. The use of advertising texts makes the learning process easier, more true-to-life, creates a real native language background and turns the ordinary teaching process into a creative investigation. The authors believe that teaching vocabulary using advertising texts may help to modify the lesson and get more efficient results in the end of the learning process.
