Abstract:
The problem of international movements and migration of the population is now increasingly attracting the attention of specialists. Analyzing the problem of emigration in the historical context, researchers come to the conclusion that it began to play a special role in the XXth century, when diasporal communities became an important component of the socio-political development of many states. Russia, being among these states, is the country most affected by migration processes. The publication studies both migration to Russia, for example, from Central Asia and South-East Asia, and outbound emigration, i.e. migration from Russia. Moreover, it is intended to study this topic in the historical context.

In this article, we plan to investigate the question of adaptation of migrants in Russia and Russian migrants abroad. It is supposed to provide a scientific understanding of the problems of adaptation of migrants, the formation of the diaspora as a cultural and civilizational phenomenon, the identification of features of the situation of foreign-speaking population abroad in different periods of history.

In addition, it seems that education is one of the mechanisms for cultural adaptation of migrants. In this regard, it is planned to refer to the tools and practices that are used in Russia and contribute to the development of migration policy. The article notes that a special role in the process of rooting foreign citizens in a new society is played by the study of its history, traditions, language, and spiritual values. In this regard, the authors consider the correlation between migration and educational policy to be very important.
