Abstract:
E-learning environments offer different possibilities to enhance educational process. Many learning (content) management systems are designed to support modern pedagogical approaches such as socio-constructivism and connectivism. Those approaches facilitate active and collaborative learning through interaction, both student-student and student-teacher, and knowledge construction, especially through group activities. In such e-learning environment the teacher can choose among many activities that are fully online or support blended learning organization of the course.
The aim of this research was to determine the level of participation, satisfaction and usefulness of different activities that support active and collaborative learning of students enrolled into one university blended learning course. Thirty three students expressed their opinions by filling-in an online survey after they received a course grade. The research results provided valuable insight into students' collaborative learning engagement and usefulness of such activities. The findings also suggested few directions for further improvements of the course pedagogic practice.
