Abstract:
In the regions where there are two official languages, the educational system is different from the others because must incorporate both languages. So, there exist bilingual or trilingual programs in the curriculum where subjects are taught in both, the official language of the state, as in the co-official in the autonomous region and sometimes a third language (from the European Community) is introduced, such as English. This is the case of the Valencian Community, where students have different modes of introduction programs and maintenance of knowledge in the three above-named languages, both in primary and secondary education.
In vocational training courses, there are no such bilingual and trilingual programs already commented, so teaching curriculum subjects are carried out, using only the Spanish as the only language of interaction.
It has been considered the application of the Valencian language in certain training because students in vocational training education have enough knowledge of Valencian, acquired in primary and secondary education (prior to joining the vocational training courses) An example of structuring materials in that language is presented in this communication. It must keep in mind that although the contents of the unit which will be discussed in the whole communication are presented in English, all of them are designed and manufactured to be taught in Valencian language.
The goal we set in this paper is the proper structuring of the results of teaching and learning, so that students learn the contents through the use of Valencian as vehicular language. So we've proposed the didactic unit Food and Nutrition included in the subject called Basic Techniques of Nursing taught in the Care Nursing Assistants Vocational Training Cycle, because its vocabulary is well known in general terms and is easily understood by students whose language skills are below to the average of the class.
The activities carried out in different sessions and will allow a complete linguistic treatment. These activities, will have an increasing difficulty and will be completed with an exercise in which students will demonstrate the knowledge acquired in the didactic unit, where language used during the five sessions, has been Valencian. Keywords:
