Abstract:
Continuous innovations and educational reforms force tutors to apply new approaches to the process of teaching.

The article presents data about the changes in values, emotional intellect, style of communication and motivations that students had experienced during the last decades. It also proposes a new direction in the collaborating pedagogical activity.

The study was conducted: on the new generation (Z) of students (N = 120) and the information generation (Y) of students (N = 122); as well as on the teachers of the transition generation (X) (N = 125) and the teachers of information generation (generation Y) (N = 130).
We used the following techniques: motivations of achievement (A. Mehrabian), values measurement (G.U. Soldatova), innovation potential, emotional intelligence (N. Hall), communication style (N.P.Fetiskin).

It was found out that the teachers of the generation X showed values of cooperation, but the style of pedagogical communication chosen by them was mostly detached. The detachment of the teachers can be explained by discrepancy of students’ and teachers’ values.

Teachers of the generation Y are focused on success and on the motivation of failure avoidance, including subordination and empathy.
In the group of students of the generation Y, the strive for success is combined with avoiding failure motivation; peacefulness, heartiness are combined with aggressiveness. The style of communication is detached.

In the group of students of the generation Z they show an indifferent style of communication, closeness, disunity in relations.
It is important for the students of generations Y and Z to do the activity of social importance and significance.

The conclusion is that in pedagogical activities it is important to interest students of the generation Y, to show them personal benefits from what you ask them to do, because they will not perform tasks, meaningless from their point of view. Working with the students of generation Z teachers should set the tasks aimed at socially significant projects, as the students need to feel the involvement.
