Abstract:
These days, as information technologies are infiltrating every niche of human activity, education field is the first one to invite IT to facilitate teaching and learning processes. There are many supporting tools that help the process of students perceiving information, but not much regard is given to how each of them facilitate and speed up the learning process, what style of information perception a student belongs to, and which elements among the used platforms will be most acceptable and understandable for students to make the learning process effective as much as possible. Thus, this article analyses the use of Felder-Silverman method to identify student learning styles, as well as its influence and implementation possibilities for personalized learning in electronic learning environment. To achieve this end, Learning Analytics literature and its methods have been reviewed; applying an original personalisation methodology, a group of students were surveyed. Probabilistic suitability index helped to identify learning methods and activities that can be used for personalized learning in electronic learning environment Moodle. Students not only conducted Felder-Silverman test, but they also were asked to describe those Moodle activities they feel most acceptable. Based on these two criteria electronic learning environment templates were suggested. The templates could optimise student learning and facilitate teaching staff’s work of creating a new course, selecting student profile matching activities in Moodle, seeking to enhance and strengthen quality and efficiency of learning process.
