Abstract:
This work is devoted to the problem of developing technologies of modelling in education science. This work is of a theoretical nature and is the result of the author's fundamental research in the field of modelling educational processes. Modelling is quite popular in education science, we can see a model of a pedagogical object, phenomenon or process proposed by researchers in almost every study. However, the problem is that when developing models, researchers neglect general and universal laws of modelling technologies that exist in science.

The paper proposes a classification of models and discusses the features of their development:
(1) The paper presents facts from the history of modelling, examples of modelling in education science, and considers the features of educational models. Background analysis shows that modelling is one of the most important tools of scientific research;
(2) The material for considering the features of modelling technologies in educational science are pedagogical objects, processes and phenomena. The methods that are used to develop models are analysis, synthesis, systematic consideration of education objects, phenomena and processes. When considering processes, the method of algorithmizing of actions is used;
(3) As a result, the types of technologies of modelling and models in educational science are proposed, the features of these models are considered, visual templates for the development of such models are proposed, and the requirements for modelling in education science are described;
(4) The conclusion is made about the interdisciplinary nature of modelling, about the features of modern models and the modelling process itself, a classification of models in education science is proposed, and a conclusion is made about the need to comply with the general laws of modeling when developing educational models. Modelling is one of the most popular and widely used research and scientific tools. The interdisciplinary nature of modelling gives the modelling process itself new facets, revealing more and more new aspects in it.

For the information stage of society development, which has its own specifics associated with the presence and role of information in the life of society, modelling is work with a certain kind of information related to the essence of an object, process or phenomenon. It is associated with the process of structuring knowledge, a technology which has different goals depending on the purpose of a model. We can say that modelling is a technology of structuring information about the essence and specifics of an object, process or phenomenon in order to achieve a systematic approach in its consideration, identify goals and limitations in its functioning. A model always represents an object, process or phenomenon, which, of course, has a much larger scope of features, of which we consider only those that are fundamental for us, sacrificing the rest in favor of comprehending the essence of the object, process or phenomenon.

Thus, we would like to clarify in what particular aspect we consider technologies of modelling and models in education science. We are interested in the research aspect of models’ application.

The purpose of this work is to study the possibilities and technologies of developing models for the education system, their possible classification and identifying the features of various types of models in education.
