Abstract:
There is a significant number of studies on the possibility of using psychological characteristics of a person, the impact on his consciousness, the personal sphere in order to increase the effectiveness of training. Despite this, there are no training methods, focused on the formation of theoretical and practical knowledge simultaneously in the field of foreign language and the development of students’ educational and cognitive skills. The purpose of the study was to develop, theoretically justify and experimentally test the effectiveness of adaptive – developing teaching foreign languages. The object of study was foreign language educational process in educational institutions. The subject of the research is adaptive-developing foreign language training in educational institution. It was established that in adaptive-developing training of foreign languages each stage of the educational process corresponds to its own forms and criteria of differentiation of educational information and students. The method of diagnostics of the current information perception channel of a student was developed and presented as an algorithm. It is based on the analysis of changes in students’ physiological state ( increase and decrease of tension) using the brainwave neural headset (NeuroSky ThinkGear technology, which uses electroencephalography from a single sensor to record brain waves and output data in the form of its own algorhythms to focus individual brain waves). A specially created computer program was developed for processing the results of diagnostics (the software was created in Visual Studio 2010 in C# programming language using Net Framework 4 and Windows Forms, the architecture is based on the principle of MVC (Model-View ‒ Controller). The developed method of diagnostics allows differentiating students for the subsequent implementation of adaptive-developing foreign language learning. We have used systematic, differentiated and person-oriented approaches. The essence consists in the formation of foreign language knowledge, skills and simultaneous improvement of the students’ cognitive activity through the development of the information perception channels. Adaptability of the educational process is realized in the communicative orientation of the learning environment (forms of communication, teachers and students) and the presentation of educational material to the leading channel of information perception. The developing nature of training is manifested in the fact that in the process of teaching foreign language speech activities, physiological mechanisms are launched to improve the process of perception of information in students simultaneously with the development of their foreign language knowledge, minds and skills. The procedural part of adaptive-developing foreign language teaching is presented in the form of a pedagogical algorithm that combines six stages (goal-setting, diagnosis, differentiation, training, control, development and improvement of foreign language knowledge, skills, perfection of educational and cognitive activity); the formalization of the educational process in the form of a pedagogical algorithm ensures its reproducibility and the possibility of creative use by teachers. The effectiveness of adaptive-developing experimental training was confirmed by the fact that the number of students with a high level of foreign language knowledge and skills in experimental group was 14.55% higher than in control group.
