Abstract:
The development of the national engineering higher education occurs based on the Lisbon Strategy and the Bologna Process. In this context, the graduates of the engineering specialties have to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of the field of study followed and to gain abilities and aptitudes that qualify them for their profession.
This paper aims to highlight the national policies and strategies on the labor market regarding the hiring of the graduates of the Faculty of Mechanical, Industrial and Maritime Engineering of the "Ovidius" University of Constanta, Romania. It is highlighting the harmonious collaboration between essential factors in education, as relationships students - professors and professor - employers.
In terms of achieving the mandatory norms and performance indicators imposed by Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, an analysis of curriculum content will be presented.
The examples of good practices of cooperation with industrial companies and employers will be explained, as well as the opinions of employers on the skills, the competencies and the performance of graduates employed.
